The Best Sit-Down Spots in College Park, when you need some post-game food

Overview

We all love our nights at Bents, Cstone, and Turf,  but sometimes you want to rest and sit down. Maybe, you want to have food that didn’t come out of a fryer basket, and maybe pretend you’re a functioning adult for once. Whether it’s date night, parents weekend, or just a fancy night with your boys, here are the Top 3 Sit-Down Restaurants in College Park that will make you feel like you're walking on sunshine.

GrillMarx

GrillMarx is the hotspot for a well cooked steak, and great vibes. GrillMarx is the go to restaurant for you and your parents after a long day of drinking at happy hour. The vibe in grillmarx screams “classy but still College Park,” with the perfect balance of steakhouse energy and casual comfort. Their steaks are unreal, they are juicy, cooked right, and make you forget about the generic dining hall food.

The bar area is also surprisingly solid. You can grab a cocktail that doesn’t come in a plastic cup, this is awesome because now you don’t have to worry about someone spilling vodka cranberry on your shoes. GrillMarx presents more of a dress up vibe, but without the D.C. prices, type shit.

If you’re looking to impress someone, your date, your parents, or even yourself. GrillMarx is the move. Bonus points for having servers who actually look happy to be there.

GrillMarx:
Drinks: 8.7/10
Food: 9.1/10
Vibes: 8.2/10
Layout: 8.3/10
Overall: 8.6/10

Burtons Grill & Bar

Burtons is GrillMarx’s twin sibling who probably interns in D.C. and drives a Lincoln. It’s put together, reliable, and somehow makes eating a burger feel fancy, which is dope. Their menu is stacked with everything from seafood to steaks to salads that actually taste like something, nothing like your roommates cooking.

The drinks are consistently delicious and classy. You’re not getting $4 rails here, but the cocktails are unreal, and they hit way smoother than your average 8 dollar vodka and lemonade mixture.

Burtons is also an elite location for parents weekend. You can sit outside, act civilized (hopefully), and then walk out feeling like you just paid your taxes and paid off a nice and reliable vehicle, you feel more mature. Service is fast, the food presentation is on point, and honestly, it’s hard to find something to complain about.

Burtons:
Drinks: 8.4/10
Food: 8.9/10
Vibes: 8.1/10
Layout: 8.7/10
Overall: 8.5/10

Honey Pig

Ah, Honey Pig, this place is dear to my heart. It is the Kbbq hotspot of College Park dining. Walk in and immediately get hit with the smell of tasty Korean BBQ, the sound of someone trying to flip their own meat, and the visual of at least one table filming their food for snapface. The thing about Honey Pig is that it’s an experience not just a meal.

This spot is the perfect mix if you want fun, flavor, and a little mayhem. The energy here is unmatched; it's smoky, loud, and borderline overwhelming, but in the best possible way. You grill your own meat at the table, which makes you feel like a chef, until you realize you’re burning everything or undercooking everything, it’s great regardless!

It’s open late, perfect for post-night-out hunger or when you and the group just need to soak up some regret (and alcohol). Bonus: they serve enough food to feed a flock of angry fraternal brothers.

Honey Pig:
Drinks: 7.8/10
Food: 9.2/10
Vibes: 8.7/10
Layout: 7.9/10
Overall: 8.4/10

Final Thoughts

So, when you’ve had your fair share of watery drinks and sticky bar floors, remember, College Park actually has some real-deal sit-down gems. GrillMarx for when you’re tryna impress, Burtons for when you’re feeling classy, and Honey Pig for when you just want to vibe and eat way too much food and pass out in a ditch.

Because every once in a while, it’s okay to trade in a shot glass for a dinner fork.
